What the customer needed
Roof water was cutting a trench behind the garage, splashing dirt onto the wood siding, and keeping too much water close to the foundation. The customer wanted a complete drainage route for the detached building.
What shaped the plan
The two-story garage apartment sits among mature trees and has wood siding with upper roof edges that require ladder access. The rear roof was shedding water directly onto the ground beside the building.
The system and the reasoning
Mac recommended clay 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters with matching 3-by-4 downspouts at the corners. Smart Flow guards were added because of the surrounding tree cover, and the downspout layout carried each gutter run to ground level.
What dcGutterPRO completed
dcGutterPRO installed clay 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters on the detached garage apartment, added matching 3-by-4 downspouts at the building corners, fitted Smart Flow gutter guards, and extended one discharge route across the rock bed.
How the finished system came together
The clay gutters follow the upper roofline without fighting the brown wood siding. Matching downspouts now give the rear and side roof sections clear discharge points, including an extension that carries water past the rock bed instead of dropping it beside the wall.
