What the customer needed
Two front roof valleys were sending concentrated runoff toward the front door. The homeowner wanted that water collected, the back patio covered, and discharge moved away from the foundation.
What shaped the plan
The single-story dark-brick home has a shingle roof, two valleys meeting near the recessed front entry, a long side roof edge, and a covered back patio. The open lot has few nearby trees.
The system and the reasoning
Mac recommended dark gray 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters installed below the roof flashing, with matching 3-by-4 downspouts placed at intervals of roughly 30 feet. Gutter guards were not included because the property had little nearby tree cover.
