The goal

What the customer needed

The customer wanted to collect roof water in an existing rain barrel, protect the foundation, and reduce the dirt splashback that was staining the home's brick exterior.

At the property

What shaped the plan

This single-story brick home has a shingle roof with a 4-on-12 pitch. The property had an existing rain barrel, and the open roof edges were allowing concentrated Magnolia rain to fall beside the foundation and splash against the brick.

Mac's recommendation

The system and the reasoning

Mac recommended cream 6-inch seamless gutters with 3-by-4 downspouts placed toward the sides of the home, including a connection to the existing rain barrel. With no nearby tree cover affecting the roof, he did not recommend gutter guards.

The work

What dcGutterPRO completed

dcGutterPRO formed and installed cream 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters around the home, added matching 3-by-4 downspouts, and routed one downspout toward the existing rain-barrel connection. No gutter guards were installed.

The result

How the finished system came together

The finished cream system follows the brick home's front, garage, and backyard rooflines in a color that coordinates with the fascia. Downspouts now provide defined discharge points at the sides of the home, and the rain-barrel connection preserves the customer's existing collection setup.
