What the customer needed
The homeowner wanted a complete system to collect runoff from the home's broad rooflines, protect the foundation and courtyard areas during heavy rain, and use the underground drain routes already in place.
What shaped the plan
The gray-stucco home has a shingle roof with an approximately 4-on-12 pitch, several courtyard and covered-patio roof sections, and mature pine trees around the property. Existing underground drains had already been installed for the downspout connections.
The system and the reasoning
Mac recommended black 6-inch seamless gutters, matching 3-by-4 downspouts placed at intervals of about 30 feet, and Smart Flow guards because of the surrounding trees. He also planned the downspout outlets around the home's existing drain connections.
What dcGutterPRO completed
dcGutterPRO installed black 6-inch seamless aluminum gutters around the home's roof edges, added matching 3-by-4 downspouts at the courtyards and covered patio, fitted the gutters with Smart Flow guards, and connected the downspout outlets to the existing drains.
How the finished system came together
The black system gives the gray stucco and dark roof a consistent finish while providing defined collection and discharge routes around the home's many roof sections. The downspouts meet the existing drains at ground level, and Smart Flow guards cover the gutters beneath the surrounding trees.
